University of Hartford
Regents Park & Park River - AY Damage Appeal Form
The Office of Residential Life asks that students review and adhere to the following appeal guidelines prior to submitting a damage appeal through this online form. Information about our damage billing and appeals process and philosophy are located on our website at http://www.hartford.edu/res_life/policies_procedures/damage.aspx.
With all damage appeals we kindly ask that when submitting a damage appeal that you utilize scholarly language, and refrain from using abusive or vulgar language. Any damage appeals that contain vulgar or abusive language will not be reviewed and will be dismissed.
All academic years damage appeals must be submitted within 10 academic/business days of the date the billing invoice was sent to your Hartford email account. Only students are permitted to submit damage appeals. Damage appeals will only be accepted using this form, emails and phone calls do not serve as a formal appeal. After submitting an appeal it will be reviewed and decided on within 10- 15 academic/business days from the date we received the appeal.
We reserve the right to deny review of any damage billing after the appeal deadline. Please submit your appeal on-time.
If you feel you are not responsible for damage due to another student being at fault, the University of Hartford student who caused the damage needs to submit a letter accepting responsibility in order for your bill to be altered.
Appeals based solely on the cost of repair can not be granted, as the Office of Residential Life does not set or control the price of repair. The price is determined based on market value by Facilities Management.
Community or life safety building damages are amortized across the entire residential population of that building and are not eligible for appeal.
